Hacer Conjugation in Spanish, Translation, Examples

One of the most common verbs in Spanish, hacer, which means to make or to do, is highly irregular. This article demonstrates hacer conjugations in the present, past and future indicative, the present and past subjunctive, the imperative, and other verb forms. When conjugating hacer, the a in the stem sometimes changes to e or i, and the c sometimes changes to z or g. The only other verbs that follow the same conjugation pattern are those derived from it, such as contrahacer (to copy or to counterfeit), deshacer (to unmake or undo), and rehacer (to remake or redo). Using the Verb Hacer The verb hacer generally means to do or to make, but it can also be part of other useful expressions. For example, it can mean ago, as in duration of time. Hence, the phrase hace 10 aà ±os means ten years ago, and hace cinco minutos means five minutes ago. The verb hacer is also used to talk about the weather. For example, hace frà o means it is cold. You can make the same construction with hace calor, hace viento, hace fresco, etc. (it is hot, windy, cool, etc.). Realism in the Movie, Training Day Essay - 1218 Words

Realism in, art and literature, [is] an attempt to describe human behavior and surroundings or to represent figures and objects exactly as they act or appear in life (Realism 1). During the 1840s through the 1890s realism was present in much of the literature from the United Sates and Europe. It has been said that realism is easily visible in many pieces of modern literature and even in present day films. In 2001, the movie Training Day was released into theaters. Many critics agreed that the movie was very realistic. In fact, the main actor Denzel Washington was presented with an academy award for his performance in Training Day. Training Day can be considered realistic, but many aspects of the film show little realism. The†¦show more content†¦An interesting quote from Mr. Cranky?s movie rating reads, ?I?ve said to several gang bangers, ?Hey, I heard you talking and thought you were Ethan Hawke,? and they?ve responded, ?Yeah, man, I get that a lot (Mr. Cranky 1). Not everyone thought the acting was horrible, because Denzel Washington won an Academy Award for his performance. Without the movie it would be very difficult to imagine someone like Ethan Hawke in an environment like the setting of Training Day. This alone was enough to spoil the realism in the movie. Others argue that the end of the movie is what drags it from being realistic to fictional. Chitra Mahesh from The Hindu newspaper writes, ?Which is why it is unfortunate that such a gritty film with so much realism, would descend to such a pallid climax (Mahesh 2).? The same writer also says, ?Graphic visuals, a violent theme, and ambiguous morals make Warner Bros Inc ?Training Day,? out of the routine. It had the opportunity to be a great film, but the last 20 minutes drag it down to average depths (Mahesh 1).? The author of this article not only believes that the end of the movie made it unrealistic but ruined the plot of the whole movie as well. Many will agree that Training Day focuses on the negative aspects of life and that is what makes it unrealistic. What Is the Reason of a “Throw-Away” Society and Make Necessary Recommendations Essay Example

What Is the Reason of a â€Å"Throw-Away† Society and Make Necessary Recommendations? Essay What is the reason of a â€Å"throw-away† society and make necessary recommendations? It seems that we are addicted to a habit of throwing away anything around us as soon as it is thought useless, which is a threatening social ailment. As for me, two contributing factors can be identified. Initially, modern technology renders it possible to replace the old with the new at a faster pace. it is a fact that because great strides are achieved in science, one-off products have permeated every corner of our life. Accordingly, this so-called convenience leads to the phenomenon that the used chopsticks, shopping bags, and water bottles are littered randomly. Moreover, lack of the awareness of environmental protection exacerbates the serious problem. It is highly probable that we throw away articles not on the purpose of contaminating environment, but involuntarily and we are blind to the relevant detriments. Therefore, gradually rubbish accumulated at an alarming rate, environment falls victim to this ugly behavior. Before our society becomes waste dump, it is high time that relevant measures were taken. Firstly, one-off products should be strictly controlled or abandoned, if possible. As we know, easy access to those products is the main culprit of the popularity of this head aching practice. Secondly, the environmentally friendly education should top the agenda of the government. Inevitably, the satisfactory solution to the throwing away society calls for cooperation and coordination between government and individuals. In the future, it is hoped that the society will turn from a throwing away one to a recycling-oriented society.

Monitor Marketing Strategies and Tactics BBQfun

Strategies and tactics used to monitor and implement the promotional activities BBQfun is a leading chain store organization in Brisbane. Due to the level of market saturation, and hence competition, it aims to expand its operations and market share alike, through a marketing strategy that has been formulated by its management (Kotler, Adams, Brown Armstrong 2005).Advertising We will write a custom report sample on Monitor Marketing Strategies and Tactics: BBQfun specifically for you for only $16.05 $11/page Learn More It has put the necessary mechanisms in place with an aim of achieving its goals and these include facilitation for payments through the introduction of convenient payment plans. In doing this, the organization has automated its stores to enable the customers pay their bills at their own convenience. Therefore, other than carrying cash wherever they go, customers will be able to use credit cards and visa cards to pay for their shopping. As a means of implementing the promotional activities of their wide range of products, the organization chose to reduce the prices of the essential goods while maintaining the quality of these products. This not only increased sales of the specific goods but also created awareness to the customer on the availability of the other goods. The company has also ventured into advertisements as this notifies the current and target markets on the existence of new products (Kotler et al. 2005). Monitoring has been done on the various methods of advertisements. The costs incurred in each of them has been analysed and compared with the returns. A promotion strategy yet to be laid out is the broadband roll out. This aims at cutting down the advertisement costs and reaching more people. Another strategy that is being used to monitor these activities is the launching of the loyalty programme. This has enabled the management to keep in touch with consumers and get their feedback on the products. The organization has also chosen to use market displays in promoting the products and also opted to collaborate with other industries in the joint- industry wide promotions. All these strategies are specifically targeted at introducing existing goods to new markets. They are also used for introducing new goods to current markets.Advertising Looking for report on business economics? Let's see if we can help you! This has helped them in evaluating the market needs and the market prices for competing products. In offering quality products at lower prices, the organization opted to outsourcing as a strategy since it would cost less to import similar goods as compared to manufacturing. The major challenge, however, on outsourcing was the comp romise in quality contrary to their agreement with the supplier. As a means of lowering the product prices, the organization is further venturing into internet marketing. This will not the affect product prices and so will keep their prices low. Another strategy that the organization plans to use is branding. In increasing their sales, they are planning to display the country of origin of these items on each of them. This will give the customers an opportunity to compare similar products of different origins and give feedback on their preference. In making distribution decisions they rely on market research and decide on which products to be taken in which areas basing on the demand. Also through their loyalty programme, they are able to contact customers and get their views on a given product. Monitoring of marketing results against targets in the marketing plan The marketing results for the just concluded financial year are a reflection of the targets that were set for the period. The marketing department is a solid team that has not been cowed by threats posed by competitors. The main contributors to the combined growth in sales were the BBQs, accounting for 40% of the sales. The outdoor furniture was also influential, contributing 35% of the sales. The BBQ consumables settled the remaining 25% of the sales. The expansion of the business will play a significant role in increasing the sales volume. The increased sales volume will lower the average cost per unit and hence lead to an increased profit margin. This will be vital for the implementation of the guarantee offered to clients.Advertising We will write a custom report sample on Monitor Marketing Strategies and Tactics: BBQfun specifically for you for only $16.05 $11/page Learn More In marketing, it is important that clients timely receive after sales services pledged by the company. Research has indicated that honouring of pledges made to clients is an important marketing tool (Ferrell Hartline 2010). It is observed that there is an increase in the contribution of sales from BBQ consumables. This is very important to the chain stores given that the marketing strategy targets clients visiting the stores in pursuit of consumables. The recently launched program aiming at enhancing customer loyalty is bound to hit faster with increasing sales from consumables. This will attract a number of customers and hence, a vital tool for monitoring progress made by the marketing team. Monitoring of marketing revenue and costs against budget The costs for marketing of BBQfun have increased in the recent years. It is noted that, in the last financial year, a total of $290,000 went into marketing. Advertising over the radio took a significant share; having received up to $70,000. The remaining $220,000 was spent on other means of product promotion. This was indeed an increase in expenses given that a majority of the product promotion tools were being used for the fir st time. There was a significant increase in revenue for the chain stores. This is attributed to the aggressive marketing that was carried out by the marketing department. The vibrant marketing strategy facilitated the creation of greater awareness for products offered by BBQfun. It is noted that the loyalty program alone, created 70% product awareness in Brisbane. This was significant in increasing the sales which in return ensured that the chain stores still earned a considerable increment in revenue. There is a general increase in unemployment and the interest rates are also scaling higher. These are serious issues which are bound to affect budgetary allocations for the current and future financial years. The revenues will be negatively affected by the higher interest rates since the costs will be going up. On the other hand, unemployment will lower the purchasing power and hence an overall decrease in revenue. Conclusion BBQfun is a fast growing chain store. In order for it to go nationwide, there is a need for greater investment in marketing. Swallow the Air by Tara June Winch Essay Example

Swallow the Air by Tara June Winch Essay Example Swallow the Air by Tara June Winch Essay Swallow the Air by Tara June Winch Essay Discoveries do indeed alter how people perceive their connections with others and the world around them. This statement accurately reflects the ideas present in the novel ‘Swallow the Air’ By Tara June Winch, the film adaptation of ‘Wuthering Heights’ By Coky Giedroyc in 2009 and the poem ‘We are going’ By Oodgeroo of the Noonuccal tribe. Still, the most prominent forms of competition remain in the entrenched multinational firms. These corporations have established strong footholds not only in the muffin market, but also in a variety of confectionary goods. One of the industry leaders in these regards is Otis Spunkmeyer. This company is most prominently positioned in the American market, but will remain a strong competitor. Additionally General Mills, Nestle, and the Rich Products Corporation constitute prominent multinational competition ("Otis spunkmeyer industry," 2012). Because of the challenge of competing with local bakeries and the large-scale multinational corporations, the organization must develop a unique product offering. While muffins remain the dominant product there is a specific recognition related to the production of these muffins. In this way the company seeks to gain competitive advantage through innovating supply chain processes that allow them to offer products with similar quality of the local bakeries, at the price of the larger multinational companies. Additionally, the company will focus on innovating a small array of products, namely a variety of muffins. One considers that Apple, Inc. adopted a similar minimalist strategy in terms of technological innovation ("The 6 pillars," 2011). Through shifting the product offering to only muffin varieties the company will be able to gain a competitive advantage over other corporations that spread their focus over a variety of
